Vacuum system installed in Shenzhen sport centre

In August next year Shenzhen, in south eastern China, will host the World University Summer Games 2011 that is organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation. A new international sport centre is being built for the games. Once the games are over, parts of the sport centre will become the new Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology.

The Institute will have three campuses and the automated waste collection from Envac will be installed in the east campus, in phase one. Initially, it will serve around 5,000 apartments, expected to generate 6.3 tons waste per day. It will be possible to extend the system to the two ensuing campuses in the future.

The World University Summer Games will take place 12-23 August 2011
